Design

Our design team have over 30 years experience when it comes to taking customer ideas and quickly producing rapid concepts to assist in reaching their goals.

Tooltech design all tooling for the investment casting process from simple CMM fixture to the advanced wax injection tools. Using the latest package of Siemens NX, Tooltech have the ability to design the most complex tooling to meet the customers criteria. Working closely with the customer, the design will always meet the customer’s needs with manufacture not being started until the customer is 100% satisfied with the design.

With 3 designers, Tooltech are able to offer a quick turnaround on their modelling work and hit that all important deadline.

Reverse Engineering

We are experts at reverse engineering, even with tooling where there is no electronic data available. For example, if a wax injection tool needs a surface to be modified, we are able to gather points from the existing tool, bring these points into Siemens NX CAD software and create this surface which we can then use to machine to.

Manufacture

Our manufacturing process is precise and efficient. With our modern CNC department consisting of 11x vertical CNC milling machines, we have the capability to reduce machine times and meet that important delivery date.

Toolmaking

Our fully equipped toolroom and highly experienced toolmakers can produce all types of tooling/fixtures required in any industry. With experience in creating press tools, cut off fixtures, CMM fixtures, bespoke tooling and wax pattern die repair our Toolmakers are capable of overcoming any obstacle that comes their way.

Inspection

Here at Tooltech we can carry out inspections on tooling either in-house or by using an external inspection company depending on your requirements.

Our in-house method of inspection uses a FARO arm which is a portable piece of equipment, we are able to load this onto the CNC machine and inspect the block whilst still set-up in the machine. If there are any areas that need re-machining or modifying, the block is still on the CNC which saves times and is far more accurate as you are not relying on the block being set-up again.

3D Printing

Our in-house 3D printing service allows us to generate rapid prototypes, mould tool gating and prove design intent. Tooltech currently own one 3D printer. The Objet Pro 30 now allows us to produce components that can go onto live tooling as the printed components are accurate and durable.
